KeySmart

KeySmart is a Shopify-based brand that began with a KickStarter. Growing from garage fulfillment into a huge success and double-digit product catalog.

With a successful Shopify store and a growing presence in brick-and-mortar retailers, they’ve done well for themselves.

This is a look at the current iteration of their Shopify presence, created by Shopify Plus agency partner Ethercycle out of Chicago. There are lot of positives here to explore.

Home Page

The home page is interesting without being overcrowded or confusing.

Products and categories are shown off well. You are directed to products and to revenue-focused CTA’s.

They also do a great job of conveying the sense that this is a high-end brand. The brand has evolved to become less of a simple utility, and more of an everyday carry, multi-product part of a customers life and style.

People want to know the people behind the brand. They want to know who they are buying from.

And KeySmart does a great job of pulling back the curtain here and showing the off the heart of the company a bit.

Collection Page

Collection pages are super variable, and there is absolutely not a blueprint that fits every store.

Catalog size, customer demographics, and product types all impact how you do collections.

Usually, small-catalog stores don’t make good use of collection pages. Here, it’s clear that KeySmart is listening to customer voices and data to shape collections.

People who get this far have at least some interest in your product. This page needs to grab their attention and do something with it.

Like the rest of the site, there are some interesting things happening here.
